The girls and I went to Cars 2 yesterday with my nephew.  We arrived just as the 12:45pm show was about to start – it was the 3D version, which I wasn’t too excited about seeing.

The original Cars movie was pretty entertaining and even though I’ve seen it at least a hundred times over the past few years – it’s one of those movies that I don’t cringe when it is selected (unlike Jack Frost, Frosty the Snowman and Hope Floats).

Unfortunately, Cars 2 was just like the majority of sequels out there – not as good as the original.  The plot is a little too much and I was pretty surprised that there wasn’t more content around Paul Newman’s character, the Hudson Hornet since Paul passed away since the original movie was released.  Arlyce also reminded me that George Carlin also passed away since the original movie – Carlin was the voice of Fillmore.

There are some pretty entertaining scenes and lines with Mater (voice by Larry the Cable Guy) being the major character in this version.

The movie is still worth seeing and not necessarily waiting until the Blu-ray/DVD release but in my opinion it just wasn’t as good as the original.

I’ve only seen two of the ten movies nominated for Best Picture and King’s Speech wasn’t one of them. Inception and Toy Story 3 were the ones I’ve seen.

The main road to get off of our hill has been closed due to snow since last night. I’m on a 2-hour conference call this morning and will head into the office a little later.

I cancelled my trip to Spokane for today/tomorrow due to the pending Snowpocolypse 2011 in the Seattle-area.

It has already been snowing off and on here in Kent and I’ve been working remotely as well.

A few conference calls using Google Voice/SIPGate and loading Windows7 SP1 on my personal laptop.

The family gift of a Microsoft Kinect has been a big hit so far and it’s a good workout for 40 year-old, overweight guy (that I know)…
