Felix Hernandez pitched his second complete game of the season as the Mariners win with a game-ending, two out RBI single by Brendan Ryan. The Mariners are trying to get out of the cellar in the American league West by improving their record to 16-17. They trail the division-leading Angels by 2.5 games.
Milton Bradley was ejected from the game in the eighth inning for arguing balls and strikes with the home plate umpire.
Attendance was a pretty decent showing of 31,912.
The Huskies are off to their first 4-0 start in Pac-10 conference play since 1984. I only saw a few minutes of the game since I was watching the Seahawk game (need a TV with Picture-In-Picture for these all too rare occasions).
Game recap from GoHuskies.com (here) and video highlights below:
Not too many people outside of the Seahawk locker room envisioned them beating the the defending Super Bowl Champion Saints today at Qwest Field, but they managed to do it. Matt Hasselbeck through for 272 yards which included 4 touchdown passes (2 to Carlson, and one a piece to Mike Williams and Brandon Stokely). He also had one interception.
The play of the game was Marshawn Lynch’s 67 yard run while evading at least seven Saints and included an amazing stiff-arm as well as a not-so-necessary crotch-grab at the end.
